Responsibilities include:

  • Bagging groceries efficiently and carefully, aiming for at least five items per bag without damage.
  • Using best practices for various bag types (reusable, plastic, paper).
  • Assisting in removing customer's merchandise from shopping carts at checkout.
  • Offering to help load bags into customers' cars.
  • Performing basic shelf conditioning and restocking merchandise.
  • Informing customers of grocery specials and returning merchandise to shelves.
  • Gathering and returning shopping carts to designated areas.
  • Cleaning spills, collecting trash inside and outside the store.
  • Handling seasonal merchandise and understanding store layout for product location and price checks.
  • Following safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
  • Adhering to food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs needed.
  • Creating a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering questions about products.
  • Complying with all laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Working cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Managing conflicts professionally and acting with honesty and integrity.
  • Following directions and seeking help when needed to resolve issues.
  • Supporting customers with special needs, minors, and older adults.
