• Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger is responsible for bagging groceries at checkout for customers.
• Strive to pack at least five items per bag, ensuring contents are not damaged.
• Follow best practices for bagging items in various types of bags (reusable, plastic, paper).
• Assist in removing customer merchandise from shopping carts for checkout.
• Offer to help customers load bags into their cars.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning and restocking.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Return merchandise to store shelves.
• Gather and return shopping carts to designated areas.
• Clean spills, collect trash inside the store and parking lot.
• Maintain cleanliness of all store areas.
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
• Understand store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
• Follow safety procedures, report unsafe conditions or incidents to management.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Inspect equipment regularly and notify maintenance of repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering questions about products.
• Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
