Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

1. Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger is responsible for bagging groceries at check out for customers.
2. Assist in bagging groceries efficiently, aiming for at least five items per bag without damage.
3. Follow best practices for bagging items in various types of bags (reusable, plastic, paper).
4. Help remove customer's merchandise from the bottom of baskets for checkout.
5. Offer to assist customers with loading bags into their cars.
6. Perform basic shelf conditioning and restocking.
7. Inform customers of grocery specials and promotions.
8. Return merchandise to store shelves properly.
9. Gather and return shopping carts to designated areas.
10. Maintain cleanliness by cleaning spills, collecting trash inside the store and parking lot.
11. Clean all areas inside and outside of the store regularly.
12. Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise as needed.
13. Understand the store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
14. Reinforce safety programs by adhering to safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.
15. Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
16. Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs.
17. Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products.
18. Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
19. Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
20. Manage conflicts in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
21. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
22. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
23. Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
24. Perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
