Requirements (Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification):

• High school diploma or GED and 1 year of related work experience.
• Valid driver's license and auto liability insurance.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Ability to obtain OPOTA Basic Bailiff certification and complete all required courses upon hire.
• Pass background screening.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and 3 years of related experience preferred.
• Possession of an OPOTA Certification.

Working Conditions and Hazards:

• Indoor work environment with protection from weather, but occasional temperature changes.
• Outdoor work with exposure to weather conditions.
• Potential exposure to unruly individuals.

Job Duties:

• Provide security and safety within assigned areas of Juvenile Court.
• Support customer service and monitor youth in various court departments.
• Respond appropriately to resistance or threats.
• Transport juveniles and prisoners to and from courtrooms and between locations.
• Supervise prisoners within court holding facilities.
• Complete logs, incident reports, and paperwork daily.
• Assist with contempt docket and be alert for issues.
• Support Juvenile Probation Officers with arrests and extraditions.
• Coordinate with law enforcement agencies.
• Deliver money to banks.
• Serve subpoenas, emergency orders, and warrants.

• Clerical skills: complete logs, incident reports, and paperwork.
• Computer skills: basic typing and technical proficiency.
• Communication skills: effective written and verbal communication.
