Job summary

Elko County is seeking a Court Reporter to produce an accurate, verbatim record of courtroom proceedings using stenographic and voice-writing equipment. The role involves real-time reporting, transcript preparation, and delivering certified transcripts to judges, attorneys, and the public in accordance with Nevada law.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Court Reporting School.
• Valid CCR license issued by the Nevada board.
• Must maintain continuing education credits as required by the Board.

Responsibilities

• Attend courtroom hearings to produce an official verbatim record.
• Prepare, proofread, and certify transcripts for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
• Provide read-back of all or portions of the record during trial and courtroom proceedings upon request of the judge.
• Prioritize and prepare transcripts to meet statutory and court-ordered deadlines; provide transcripts to attorneys or other court officials in a timely manner.
