San Diego Superior Court is seeking a Court Reporter to create verbatim records of courtroom proceedings and prepare transcripts in a timely manner.

The role requires CSR certification, knowledge of legal terminology, and proficiency with court reporting software. A driver’s license may be considered, with premium pay for specialized skills. This is an eligible list position with ongoing opportunities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of laws, regulations and practices related to court reporting and transcription.
• Proficiency in legal terminology and courtroom procedures.
• Ability to operate reporting software and maintain dictionaries.

Responsabilités

• Record and compile a verbatim official record of all courtroom proceedings.
• Provide read back of testified information as requested.
• Research medical, legal, and technical terminology and case citations.
• Develop and modify custom software dictionaries for accuracy.
• Prepare transcripts in accordance with prescribed formats and deadlines.
• Certify final transcripts.
