Job summary

The Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska invites applications for a Pre-Trial Services Liaison at the Winnebago Tribal Court in Winnebago, NE. This staff member works under the Tribal Court Administrator, monitoring cases through the court process and assisting clients on the reservation to navigate pre-trial or probation conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or working toward degree in criminal justice, human services, social services, or related fields.
• At least two years’ experience or an acceptable combination of experience and education.
• Grant project management experience.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills with ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the Winnebago Tribe’s core mission, vision, and values.
• Maintain accurate and complete case file records and statistical reports for grant requirements.
• Ensure all relevant documentation is included in clientele file/database.
• Manages a caseload of approximately 50 clients.
• Communicate with Probation Office regularly to provide progress updates.
• Transports clients to court and attends hearings to provide progress updates.
• Coordinates with Probation, Recovery Program, Behavioral Health and other services to determine needs upon release.
• Interviews clients to gather information about strengths, resources, needs, employment.
• Secures medical, psychological, and social information to evaluate needs.
• Assists with applying for social services benefits such as Medical, General Relief, Vocational Rehab, Disabilities, Unemployment.
• Provides warm hand-off and maintains communications with service providers.
• Ensure client is compliant with Court documents.
• Provides transportation with a company vehicle as needed.
• Maintain frequent communication with Winnebago Police Department.
• Occasional research and clerical duties.
