The Los Angeles Superior Court seeks a Court Operations Manager to oversee non-judicial operations. The role involves managing staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and developing operational policies. Ideal candidates will have supervisory experience and strong interpersonal skills.

Los Angeles Superior Court is the largest unified trial court in the United States. Its 580 judges and commissioners work across 36 facilities within 12 judicial districts and are supported by over 4,800 full-time employees. The Court's annual budget exceeds $1 billion. Located in Southern California, Los Angeles County covers 4,752 square miles and has a population of over 10.4 million residents, making it one of the most populous counties in the nation.
ABOUT THE POSITION
A Court Operations Manager plans, organizes, manages, oversees, and assists in non-judicial operations and administrative functions of one or more divisions or units. They participate in developing and implementing goals, policies, and standards, and review the work of subordinate staff to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations. This is an at-will managerial position. The Trial Court Employment Protection and Governance Act (SB 2140) allows the Court to exclude managerial employees from employment protections, subject to meet and confer.
SELECTION REQUIREMENTS
To qualify, you must meet one of the following options at the time of application:
Note: Experience is credited based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited proportionally. Overtime is not credited.
Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements: A valid California Class C driver's license or alternative transportation method to perform essential functions.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
EXAMINATION INFORMATION
Part I: Evaluation of training and experience based on application materials and supplemental questionnaire.
Part II: Online assessment covering management judgment, potential, and reasoning.
Part III: Evaluation of a writing sample provided in the application.
Part IV: Oral interview assessing experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
