Job summary

The United States Courts in New York is seeking a Shared Services IT Security Officer to support multiple court units, including the Clerk’s Office and Probation Office. The role emphasizes advancing security priorities, security awareness, and best practices.

You will work across IT teams to improve the district's security posture, assist network administrators, and develop standards from a security perspective for long‑term network design.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience in IT security and related tools.
• Ability to learn new tools and methods and perform independent research.
• Ability to collaborate with teams and external partners.
• Ability to identify, prioritize, and resolve security issues identified in scans.
• Strong communication, professionalism, and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Proactively advance security priorities and engage customers in awareness and training.
• Improve the district's security posture and support multiple court units.
• Assist network administrators with standards, changes, and design from a security perspective.
• Develop security policies, end-user documentation, and instructions.
• Lead or support security projects and document architecture decisions.
