Job summary

The United States District Court, Western District of New York, Buffalo divisional office seeks a mission-driven Systems Analyst to translate operational needs into technical solutions and to design, develop, and maintain custom software for court users.

The role emphasizes analyzing court processes, building reports, and training staff on national systems and local tools, with on-site work at the Robert H. Jackson U.S. Courthouse. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in CS, MIS, or related field.
• Knowledge of AI applications and programming languages.
• Experience with CM/ECF, Drupal, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Support CM/ECF-NextGen and other national/local applications.
• Develop programmatic enhancements using AI and traditional technologies.
• Write and document code to specification; create reports and flowcharts.
• Provide user and IT staff documentation and training materials.
• Assist in hardware/software installs, updates, and decommissioning.
• Update internal and external websites as requested.
• Address IT help desk tickets and user support requests.
• Respond to user issues with a court-issued cell phone and be available.
• Train end users and IT personnel on local and national applications.
• Travel as needed to support divisional and district offices.
