Job summary

SOSi is seeking qualified interpreters to support immigration court interpretation needs. The interpreter will provide consecutive and simultaneous interpretation between English and target languages, in person, over the phone, or via video remote interpreting.

Candidates must be fluent in English and Spanish, have at least one year of interpreting experience in a judicial environment, and handle legal terminology with accuracy. On-site in courts with remote flexibility around court schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience with both simultaneous and consecutive interpreting.
• Experience in a judicial environment preferred.
• Fluency in English and target language with formal and casual communication vocabularies.

Responsibilities

• Provides consecutive and simultaneous interpretation between target language and English.
• Provides in-person, over-the-phone and video remote interpreting for LEP individuals.
• Performs sight translation of documents between languages.
• Provides quality control review of translated documents.
