Job summary

SOSi is seeking an experienced Spanish interpreter in El Paso, TX for a full-time, on-site role supporting court- and government-related interpretations. The interpreter will provide consecutive, simultaneous, sight translation, and remote interpreting as required, handling English–Spanish communication with accuracy, clarity, and appropriate tone in a fast-paced call/contact center environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum one (1) year of experience interpreting in a judicial environment.
• Legal ability to work in the U.S.
• Highly proficient in both English and Spanish vocabularies used in justice contexts, including slang.
• Knowledge of legal/criminal justice terminology in English and Spanish.
• Fluent in English and Spanish with clear pronunciation across registers.
• Ability to perform simultaneous, consecutive, and sight translation accurately.
• Ability to manage tone, pace, and length of delivery during interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Provides consecutive and simultaneous interpretation between Spanish and English.
• Provides over-the-phone and video remote interpreting as required.
• Performs sight translation of documents when needed.
• Performs quality control review of translated documents.
