Job summary

Openwork is seeking a Justice Court Clerk for a Humble, TX office. The role supports daily court operations with accurate recordkeeping, document preparation, and data entry. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, full-time or contract-to-hire.

Requirements include at least 1 year of computer and clerical experience, strong MS Word/Excel/Outlook skills, and preferably 1+ year in a legal/ court setting. Openwork offers a path to permanent hire and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of computer and clerical experience — REQUIRED.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook — REQUIRED.
  • 1+ year of paralegal, legal, court, or judicial system experience — STRONGLY PREFERRED.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain court dockets, records, and files.
  • Prepare correspondence and court-related documents.
  • Coordinate court appearances and scheduling.
  • Administer oaths as required.
  • Enter and update information accurately in court records.
  • Answer incoming calls and assist the public professionally.
  • Prepare certified copies, reports, and other documentation.
  • Maintain organized records and handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Support additional clerical and court-related duties as needed.
