Job summary

Jefferson County Courthouse in Colorado is seeking an entry-level case processing assistant providing customer service at the counter, by phone, and electronically. You will create new cases, process pleadings, accept payments, and train in more advanced responsibilities as needed.

The position is part-time (12 hours per week) with a Friday afternoon/Saturday schedule, and is term-limited for about 24 months with potential extension depending on funding.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assists customers with paperwork, answers questions, reviews court forms for completeness, and assigns case numbers.
• Receives and processes incoming correspondence via email, mail, e-filing, and in-person filings, and distribution.
• Directs customers to appropriate services such as legal clinics, self-help information and specialists, Supreme Court and local libraries, the bar association, or family court facilitators.
• Maintains case documentation and updates case management system, including adding case information and documentation to case management system, updating case information, updating contact information, processing bond forfeitures, and entering transcript requests.
