Job summary

Center for Justice Innovation seeks a Case Manager for its Supervised Release Program (SRP) in Brooklyn, NY. This full‑time, in‑person position focuses on supervising participants, coordinating services, and ensuring court attendance with collaboration across court staff and service providers.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with direct practice experience or equivalent experience, plus strong organizational skills and trauma-informed practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with two years direct practice experience required, or high school degree with six years direct practice experience.
• Experience in pretrial, court-based, or criminal legal system strongly preferred.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Master’s degree in Social Work or related fields valued but not required.
• Experience using trauma-informed and strength-based approaches preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team within a fast-paced environment.
• Professional demeanor with judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, court staff, and site partner agencies.
• Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and court monitoring for SRP participants according to their assigned tier and level.
• Proactively communicate program expectations with participants.
• Identify and address barriers to compliance with supervision requirements and court attendance.
• Coordinate comprehensive, clinically-informed case management with internal and external resources and referrals.
• Refer participants to services in substance use, mental health, trauma, housing, education, and employment.
• Monitor participants’ compliance and conduct outreach to participants and defense attorneys.
• Maintain accurate data entry and case documentation aligned with the program model.
• Submit timely reports to court within designated timeframes.
• Maintain professional relationships with court staff, judges, and attorneys.
• Co-facilitate pro-social and psycho-educational groups.
• Ensure cross-team communication to identify successes and opportunities.
• Participate in supervision and trainings; attend events as needed.
• Note: not eligible for clinical hours; additional tasks as necessary.
