Job summary

Amador County Sheriff's Office is seeking a capable bailiff to serve during court proceedings under supervision and perform related duties. You will handle preliminary investigations, witness interviews, evidence gathering, and reporting to support courtroom operations.

This fully trained journey level role requires POS T certification, a valid California driver’s license, and the ability to maintain court security and orderly proceedings.

Qualifications

• Prior law enforcement experience is highly desirable.
• P.O.S.T. certification is mandatory.
• Graduation from a P.O.S.T. certified academy is mandatory.
• California driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts preliminary investigations.
• Interrogates witnesses and gathers statements.
• Substantiates findings of fact in court and prepares reports.
• May guard prisoners and assist with searches for information.
• Coordinates with other law enforcement and prepares detailed reports.
• May secure search warrants and criminal complaints.
