Qualifications

• Knowledge of Amador County correctional procedures, policies, and regulations.
• Knowledge of jail operations, booking procedures, and custody of incarcerated persons.
• Familiar with recent court decisions affecting arrest procedures and detainee handling.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of corrections work.
• Ability to write clear and comprehensive reports.
• Type at a rate of 45 words per minute.

Responsibilities

• Supervise incarcerated persons during shift and activities.
• Conduct roll calls and monitor work details and leisure activities.
• Inspect cells and facilities for sanitation and safety.
• Perform strip searches and searches for contraband.
• Maintain records and respond to inmate detention inquiries.
• Assist with teletype communications and other law enforcement areas.
• Possibly transport inmates to court or medical appointments.
