Job summary

LSI is seeking a Courseware Developer I to create CBT materials using company and commercial tools. You will structure GUIs, implement graphics, animation, text, and audio to deliver engaging training products.

Collaborating with SMEs, IDs, and graphic specialists, you will ensure content accuracy, accessibility, and timely delivery while adhering to ITAR and NISPOM security requirements.

Qualifications

  • Courseware Developer I creates CBT materials using off-the-shelf or company tools.
  • Collaborates with SMEs, IDs, GS, and other CWDs to develop CBT products.

Responsibilities

  • Uses authoring tools to create Interactive Courseware (ICW) and Instructor-Led Training (ILT).
  • Writes text, gathers graphics, and assembles onscreen elements for clear presentations.
  • Applies scripting to add interactivity and navigation in courseware.
  • Implements transitions, graphics, and custom buttons to enhance products.
  • Works with SMEs, IDs, GS, and other CWDs during design and development.
  • Attends training conferences and required reviews and meetings.
  • Adheres to ITAR restrictions on export of military hardware and training services.
  • Complies with CUI and NISPOM security classifications as required.
  • May work overtime or travel for training equipment deployment.
  • Operates under supervision to develop training materials.
  • Safely handles government-furnished equipment and materials.
  • Maintains a standard weekly schedule with overtime as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

General Summary

Courseware Developer I develops Computer-Based Training (CBT) materials using commercial off-the-shelf and/or company-created software tools, including structuring the Graphical User Interface (GUI) and implementing graphics, animation, text, and audio files.

Essential Job Function
  • Uses commercial off-the-shelf and company-developed authoring tools to create Interactive Courseware (ICW) and Instructor-Led Training (ILT) materials.
  • Writes text, gathers graphics, and assembles other onscreen elements to create clear and concise onscreen presentations of information in accordance with the prescribed guidance for the specific project.
  • Uses scripting technologies to implement interactivity and navigation logic into courseware products.
  • Chooses and implements transition effects, graphics, and custom buttons to make the products more compelling and effective.
  • Works with a team of Subject Matter Experts (SME), Instructional Designers (IDs), Graphic Specialists (GS), and other CWDs to analyze, design, and develop CBT products.
  • Attends training conferences, In-Process Reviews (IPRs), and other required meetings.
  • Must be aware of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) restrictions on export of military hardware and training services.
  • Must be aware of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and security classifications as outlined in the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).
  • May be required to work occasionally outside of normal hours due to travel or availability of training equipment.
  • Works under supervision to proactively develop training materials.
  • Must be capable of safely handling government-furnished equipment and materials.
  • Must be available to work a standard weekly schedule with overtime as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
