Job summary

Barnes & Noble Education is seeking an Inventory Coordinator to optimize course materials availability by analyzing sales history, course information, and inventory data. You will support purchasing decisions, monitor risk, and act on inventory reports to minimize backorders and excess stock.

Responsibilities include evaluating supplier and course material changes, assisting with new editions, and coordinating with Acquisitions and Client Representatives to ensure availability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet applications, along with general computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Determine stocking quantities for course materials by analyzing historical data.
• Analyze purchasing activity and inventory information to support buying decisions.
• Review stocking decisions to prevent backorders and excess inventory.
• Monitor inventory risks and take appropriate action as needed.
• Review publisher policies and product changes that affect inventory needs.
• Review and act on inventory and performance reports.
