Job summary

Jackson County, Missouri is seeking a Courier/Delivery worker to provide pickup and delivery services for mail, supplies, equipment, and other items. The role includes warehouse duties, inventory handling, and operating a court van in year‑round conditions.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED with at least one year in a warehouse setting, strong customer service, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus one year of warehouse experience.
• Experience with material handling, inventory control, and order entry (minimum two).

Responsibilities

• Make routine and non-routine pickups and deliveries of mail, supplies, equipment, food, furniture, case goods, court files, etc., at court facilities, vendors and local businesses.
• Drives court van, loads and unloads items, and may utilize hand truck or other means to move items.
• Fill orders or issue supplies from requisition forms by gathering all requested items and attaching requisition.
• Receive in diversified and specialized supplies, materials, equipment and other commodities.
• Examine items to detect unacceptable goods and conformance to orders.
• Operate computerized inventory system regarding materials received in.
• Sort/deliver inbound mail/packages, and process outbound mail and packages for pickup.
• Prepare meeting rooms, and set up audio-visual equipment, move/set up furniture, equipment, etc.
• Perform other duties as required.
