Job summary

Interpath Laboratory in Nebraska is seeking a friendly courier with a clean driving record to join our team. This is a full-time position (days/hours TBD) with benefits including medical, dental, vision, a 401(K) with employer match, paid time off, and in-house diagnostic testing.

You will coordinate timely transport of medical specimens, provide excellent client service, maintain vehicles, and ensure HIPAA confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preference for candidates with courier or driving experience.
• Must have valid, unrestricted driver’s license.

In this role, you will:

• Coordinate timely and efficient transportation of medical specimens and supplies.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and employees.
• Maintain cleanliness and perform maintenance on company vehicles and transport devices.
• Ensure compliance with confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
• Document operations and complete necessary reports.
• Assist with training and communication among couriers and relevant departments.

Education & Certification:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

• Strong preference for candidates with previous driving/courier experience

Licensing & Driving Requirements:

• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license
• Clean driving record

Skills & Competencies:

• Navigation, punctuality, and ability to follow detailed instructions
• Ability to drive in inclement weather

General Physical Requirements:

• Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs. Occasional lifting of 30-60 lbs.
• Ability to enter and exit assigned vehicle. Able to sit in vehicle/drive for up to 4 hours nonstop.
• Ability to load & unload assigned vehicle, with frequent bending involved.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment as needed.
• Regularly handle potentially infectious samples.
• Ability to drive assigned vehicle in all types of conditions, including built-up areas, freeway, and rural traffic, hours of darkness, and inclement weather.
• May be exposed to odorous chemicals and specimens.
• Occasional-to-regular kneeling, bending, stooping and twisting to perform vehicle inspections and minor operator maintenance, including changing tires.

OHSA Category: This position performs tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids and/or tissues. All employees performing these duties are offered the opportunity to receive the Hepatitis-B vaccination series.
