Job summary

Federal Express Corporation in Tallahassee, FL is seeking a driver/operator of company vehicles to deliver and pick up packages with courteous service. Responsibilities include checking shipments for conformance to FedEx service standards and assisting customers as needed.

Must hold a high school diploma or GED, be licensed for the vehicle type, and pass medical exams as required by FMCSA/FAA. This is a part-time, on-site role with variable days and hours.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift 50 lbs and maneuver heavier packages with equipment or assistance.
• Must be at least 21 years old; read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs and communicate with officials.

Job description

Minimum Education

High school diploma/GED. Must be licensed for type of vehicle assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Good human relations and verbal communication skills. Neat appearance since customer contact is required. Must meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier safety regulations. Requires medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations. Non-covered safety-sensitive position. Medical exam required. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
