Job summary

Applicants should be high school graduates with a valid PA driver’s license, capable of maintaining professionalism and adhering to safety protocols such as wearing PPE. The position requires detailed attention to security and handling of sensitive materials, as well as the ability to respond to urgent delivery needs.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver items including medical records, laboratory specimens, and medications.
• Operate hospital vehicles or walk designated routes for deliveries.
• Ensure handling and security of sensitive materials according to regulations.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and obtain signatures.
• Respond promptly to urgent delivery requests.
• Report issues or maintenance needs on vehicles.
• Adhere to infection prevention protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
• Maintain a professional demeanor while interacting with others.
• Assist with sorting and unloading deliveries.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver items including medical records, laboratory specimens, medications, sterile supplies, interdepartmental mail, and other hospital materials.
• Operate hospital vehicles or walk designated routes to complete deliveries across hospital campuses or external locations.
• Ensure proper handling and security of sensitive, confidential, or hazardous materials, following HIPAA, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and obtain signatures for all pickups and drop-offs.
• Respond to urgent and stat requests promptly and professionally.
• Report any issues or required maintenance on courier vehicles.
• Adhere to hospital infection prevention and safety protocols, including wearing appropriate PPE.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with staff, patients, and the public.
• Assist with sorting, loading, and unloading deliveries as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or department leadership.
