Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver items including medical records and medications.
• Operate hospital vehicles or walk designated routes.
• Ensure proper handling and security of materials.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and obtain signatures.
• Respond to urgent requests promptly.
• Report issues or required maintenance on courier vehicles.
• Follow infection prevention and safety protocols.
• Maintain a professional demeanor while interacting with others.
• Assist with sorting and loading deliveries.

Education

Job description

• Pick up and deliver items including medical records, laboratory specimens, medications, sterile supplies, interdepartmental mail, and other hospital materials.
• Operate hospital vehicles or walk designated routes to complete deliveries across hospital campuses or external locations.
• Ensure proper handling and security of sensitive, confidential, or hazardous materials, following HIPAA, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and obtain signatures for all pickups and drop-offs.
• Respond to urgent and stat requests promptly and professionally.
• reporting any issues or required maintenance on courier vehicles.
• Adhere to hospital infection prevention and safety protocols, including wearing appropriate PPE.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with staff, patients, and the public.
• Assist with sorting, loading, and unloading deliveries as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or department leadership.
