Job summary

Major Hospital in Shelbyville, IN seeks a dependable courier to transport prescriptions, medications, supplies, and documents between MedWorks Pharmacy, Major Hospital locations, and designated sites. You will plan and adjust daily routes with attention to security and confidentiality, and maintain timely, courteous service.

Responsibilities include accurate documentation, operating a vehicle safely in all weather, using an iPad/POS system, and providing clerical support as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record.
• Dependable, punctual, flexible and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Job description

Provides safe, timely, accurate, and courteous courier services for MedWorks Pharmacy and Major Hospital locations. Responsible for the transportation and delivery of prescriptions, medications, supplies, interoffice mail, bank deposits, documents, and other authorized items to patients, healthcare facilities, clinics, hospital departments, and other designated locations.

Plans and adjusts daily delivery routes to meet changing priorities and operational needs while maintaining appropriate security, confidentiality, documentation, and communication. Provides clerical and general support to MedWorks Pharmacy as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Professional & Technical Skills

• Good driving skills and an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to safely operate a vehicle in varying traffic and weather conditions.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and adjust a delivery route based on changing needs.
• Ability to accurately complete electronic and written documentation.
• Ability to safely and securely transport medications, financial materials, confidential information, and other organizational property.
• Basic computer and electronic device skills, including the ability to use an iPad and point-of-sale/register system.

Education

High School Diploma or G.E.D.

License(s) or Certification(s)

Must have a valid driver’s license, personal automobile insurance and an acceptable driver’s record.
