Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a PRN courier in Rockford, IL to transport supplies between Mercy locations. The role involves operating Mercy Courier Vans, loading and delivering items such as linen carts, lab coolers, and pharmaceutical totes, and maintaining accurate route logs.

It may require working weekends, nights, and holidays and involves physical lifting and movement of items. The position emphasizes careful safety practices, proper key control, and accurate documentation through tracking

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to follow detailed route instructions and schedules.
• Ability to lift, move and deliver a variety of items.

Job description

Overview

Transport supplies to and from all Mercy locations according to designated route schedules. Items transported include, but are not limited to, linen carts (full and empty), inter-office mail, Lab coolers, various supplies, mail, pharmacy totes, refrigerated supplies, lab specimens, and billing envelopes. May also include deposit and change bags to/from area banks. This position may be required to work weekends, nights and holidays. This is a physical job which requires the ability to lift, move and deliver a variety of items.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow detailed route instructions and schedules.
• Record and maintain detailed logs as required.
• Secure keys and key cards at all times.
• Pick up, load, unload and deliver a wide variety of supplies and other items (as described in the Summary above).
• Safely operate a motor vehicle, specifically the Mercy Courier Vans.
• Repetitively enter and exit the driver and cargo areas of the vans
• Document pick up and deliveries using tracking software

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent.

PAY RANGE

$16.89 - $24.49
