Job summary

Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Transportation Specialist to support regional transport needs across the area. The role delivers specimens, mail, reports, money, and supplies, and transports department equipment to event locations such as health fairs and screenings.

You will operate a dolly and phone, work with clinicians and staff, and handle documentation with accuracy.

Qualifications

  • No experience required.
  • Valid driver's license and 21 years of age at hire.
  • Ability to operate a dolly and a telephone.
  • Ability to work in a high-stress environment.

Responsibilities

  • Picks up specimens, supplies, mail, reports, money, hazardous lab specimens, and other documents throughout the region as assigned and promptly delivers to designated locations.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of region served, including routes established for routine and urgent transport.
  • Assists with maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Prepares and submits all required documentation.
  • Interacts with team members, physicians, office staff, patients, visitors, and other departments.
  • Transports department equipment to event locations for health fairs, off-site screenings, and other events.

Job Summary:

Provides transportation services which may include mail, money, team members, golden partner members, community members, reports, hazardous lab specimens, and supplies to and from off-site locations throughout the region.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Picks up specimens, supplies, mail, reports, money, hazardous lab specimens, and other documents throughout the region as assigned and promptly delivers to designated locations.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of region served, including general and specific routes established for routine and urgent transport.
  • Assists with maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Prepares and submits all required documentation.
  • Interacts with other team members, physicians, physician's office staff, patients, visitors, ancillary departments, support areas, and the community.
  • Transports department equipment to event locations for health fairs, off-site screenings, and other events.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
  • Works under minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Must be able to operate dolly and telephone.
