Job Duties And Key Responsibilities

- Delivery and Logistics:
- Assemble and load items for delivery and pick-up.
- Deliver and pick up blood products, samples, supplies, and equipment as directed.
- Ensure deliveries are completed safely, accurately, and on time.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation.
- Vehicle Maintenance and Safety:
- Ensure that assigned delivery vehicles are in operational condition and report malfunctions to the department manager.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicles.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety guidelines.
- 3. Communication and Professionalism:
- Demonstrate courteous and professional behavior when interacting with donors, patients, employees, volunteers, and external contacts.
- Maintain confidentiality of donor, patient, employee, and organizational information.
- Relay job-related information promptly to relevant staff.
- 4. Organizational Mission and Compliance:
- Support and uphold the organization’s mission, goals, and programs.
- Adhere to cost-efficiency measures while performing job duties.
- Participate in safety meetings, training, and educational opportunities.
- Follow all SunCoast Blood Centers policies and procedures.
- 5. Other Duties:
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support SunCoast Blood Centers' mission and operational needs.

Physical Requirements
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequently required to walk and/or stand for extended periods; occasional sitting.
- Frequently required to lift and move objects weighing 20-60 lbs.
- Ability to bend, squat, and reach above head/shoulder levels.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Environmental Requirements
- Potential exposure to infectious materials, blood-borne pathogens, and hazardous chemicals.
- Work conditions may include excessive heat, cold, or outdoor environments.
- May be exposed to moving mechanical parts and potential electric shock.
- Work involves driving and may include exposure to inclement weather.
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of driving experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of general work experience; a mechanical background is preferred
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Organizational and time-management skills
- Basic written communication and record-keeping abilities
- Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid Florida Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Reliable transportation
