Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a qualified Courier for part-time, second shift at Sentara Home Care Services in Chesapeake, VA. Schedule includes Monday, Tuesday, Friday 12 pm to close and Saturday 10 am to close.

The role involves transporting deposits, medications, equipment, supplies, and packages within the service area. Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma or equivalent and a valid VA driver's license, with prior professional driving experience and a clean driving record.

• Experience in professional driving/transportation preferred.
• Clean driving record.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to sit/drive for up to 90% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Performs as a transporter for deposits, medications, equipment, supplies, x-ray films, lab specimens, letters, marketing materials and packages.
• Proficient at performing 25% of all daily routes with flexibility to cover all three shifts when required.
• Operate vehicle safely and maintain vehicle cleanliness; keep safety logs and request maintenance as needed.

Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Courier.

Position Status: Part Time - Second Shift

Overview

Performs as a transporter for various items such as deposits, medications, equipment, supplies, x-ray films, lab specimens, letters, marketing materials and packages. Proficient at performing 25% of all daily routes with the flexibility to work all three shifts in any geographic area when required. Required to operate vehicle safely, keeps vehicle clean and well maintained; maintain vehicle safety logs and submit requests for vehicle maintenance/repairs in a timely manner.

Education

• Highschool Graduate or Equivalent

Certification/Licensure

• Valid VA Driver's License

Experience

• Previous experience with professional driving/transportation (in health care industry preferred)
• Clean driving record
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to sit/drive for up to 90% of the time

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $18.70 - $27.19 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
