Job summary

Northwest Medical Center Tucson is seeking an experienced Obstetrics RN to join the Women's Center for a day shift. The role involves caring for mothers and newborns across obstetric and neonatal units, coordinating with the care team to provide evidence-based, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities include prenatal education, labor support, postpartum monitoring, and newborn care. A strong nursing foundation, teamwork, and commitment to safety are essential for success in this unit.

Qualifications

• RN must hold state licensure and BCLS; ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred.
• Knowledge of nursing process and clinical practices is essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality patient-centered care in OB, labor and delivery, postpartum and nursery.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for side effects.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and care teams to develop and evaluate care plans.
• Document care thoroughly and ensure patient safety and adherence to protocols.
• Respond to emergencies including CPR and code team activities as needed.
• Educate patients and families on care plans, post-discharge care and newborn safety.
