Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) seeks a pair of full-time Flex Houseparents to live on campus and supervise a group of 8–13 students. The role combines mentorship, daily routines, and supervision within a family-style home environment on campus in Hershey, PA.

Both spouses must be married for at least two years, aged 27+, and ready to handle duties including transportation, devotions, budgeting, and student activities. Housing and meals are included as part of the compensation.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for legally married couples (at least two years).
• Both spouses aged 27 or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship
• Managing household routines and student schedules
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
• Driving students to activities, as well as planning and actively engaging in developmental and recreational activities with students
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
