Job summary

The Washtenaw Intermediate School District seeks a Coordinator of Literacy to provide countywide leadership that strengthens equitable, high-quality literacy instruction across Washtenaw County. Grounded in evidence-based practices, this role includes job-embedded coaching, data-informed decision making, and sustained professional learning to build teachers’ capacity.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in reading/literacy education or a bachelor’s degree with advanced coursework in reading and completed professional development in evidence-based literacy core instructional strategies.
• Five or more years of successful K-12 classroom teaching experience.
• Three or more years of experience in literacy coaching; elementary and secondary levels preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead countywide literacy initiatives and coaching with a focus on equity and access.
• Monitor and use literacy data to inform supports and adjustments across districts.
• Coordinate professional learning networks and partnerships with districts and community stakeholders.
