Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a County Health Services Director to drive the overall performance of the county health program, including service delivery, financial sustainability, and growth.

The role requires leadership of supervisors and care providers, collaboration with the regional director, and strong budget and analytics skills to improve client care and reduce health disparities.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of direct relevant experience in healthcare, behavioral health or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee county performance including service delivery outcomes, finances, and growth.
  • Travel ~50% to support client care and county operations.
  • Mentor supervisors, providers, and other reports.
  • Recruit, motivate, and retain care providers for all programs and service lines.
  • Develop operational strategies with regional director to enhance client care and mitigate disparities.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.
  • Develop budgets with leadership team members.
  • Make data-driven decisions and identify trends to capitalize on opportunities.
  • Maintain high ratings on state and federal quality measures.
  • Build relationships with clients, families, employees, referral sources, and agencies.
  • Ensure collaboration between programs and service lines.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the overall performance of the county, including but not limited to service delivery outcomes, financial sustainability, and growth.
  • 50% of the travel in the field supporting client care and county operations, or more as needed.
  • Directly oversees and provides support and developmental opportunities to supervisors, providers, and other direct reports.
  • Recruit, motivate, and retain a dedicated team of care providers for all programs and service lines.
  • Work closely with the regional director to develop and implement operational strategies that enhance client care and client satisfaction, and mitigate health disparities.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.
  • Develops appropriate fiscal budgets in collaboration with leadership team members.
  • Drives success and makes decisions using data analytics, identifies trends, and develops and implements strategies to capitalize on opportunities in the county.
  • Accountable for achieving and maintaining high ratings on state and federal quality measures.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, families, employees, referral sources, and partner or state agencies.
  • Participate in and ensure consistent communication and collaboration between programs and service lines within the county.
  • Manages all aspects of accessibility, effectiveness, and efficiency of service delivery that assure cost-effectiveness and sound clinical outcomes.
  • Responsible for operationalizing organizational goals and maintaining a high standard of operational performance, including clinical outcomes and other targeted benchmarks.
  • Mentor team members to serve clients and providers with compassion, resourcefulness, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Supports and motivates direct reports to accomplish both their individual, professional and county goals.
  • Monitors policy compliance for assigned offices/providers.
  • Regularly review client satisfaction scores and develop plans to improve scores.
  • Manage physical assets, including reporting repair and maintenance requests, vendor management, and cleaning standards.
  • Supporting the development of growth within designated service areas.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • A high school degree or GED equivalent is required
  • A bachelor's degree in social work, education, counseling, psychology, or another related field is preferred
  • A master's degree in social work, education, counseling, psychology, or another related field is preferred
  • Active license in the state of Ohio as an LSW/LPC, LISW/LPCC/PhD/IMFFT is preferred
  • 5 years of direct relevant experience in healthcare, behavioral health or a related field is required
  • 3 years of experience as a leader in a healthcare setting is required
  • Budgetary experience is required
  • Experience working within Electronic Health Record systems is required
  • Experience working with multi-system youth, or individuals with autism and/or developmental disabilities, is preferred
  • Working knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations is required
  • Ability to analyze a monthly financial statement and prepare detailed budgets and operating forecasts is required

  • Knowledge of Medicaid regulations and compliance requirements is required.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle is required.
  • An appropriate level of auto insurance coverage is required.
  • The ability to maintain confidential information is required.
  • Ability to manage deadlines within a fast-paced, high-volume environment is required.
  • Ability to operate in an Internet-based, automated office environment is required.
  • The ability to maintain a high-speed internet connection is required.
