Qualifications

• Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1 or completion of the County Social Casework Intern program.
• Bachelor's degree with a social welfare major or an equivalent combination of degrees and credits as specified.
• Commitment to meeting educational requirements within two months of graduating.
• Ability to perform essential job functions and meet PA residency requirements (waived for this title).
• Eligibility for satisfactory background investigations and clearances as per law.

Responsibilities

• Case Management: Support children and families through structured case planning and guidance.
• Family Assistance: Help families improve social, emotional, and physical stability.
• Child Safety: Assess situations to ensure the safety and well-being of each child.
• Service Coordination: Connect families with needed community resources and supports.
• Progress Monitoring: Track family progress and adjust plans based on changing needs.

Education

Bachelor's degree with social welfare major

Bachelor's degree with 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice or related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience

Any equivalent combination of experience and training with 12 college credits in social sciences
