Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in Greensburg, PA, is hiring a County Caseworker 1 to help families achieve stability and hope. You will join a dedicated team that provides training and close supervision while you grow your social service skills.

The role involves training participation, basic case management support, guided casework, documentation review, and ongoing professional development. Telework is possible after six months with conditions; full-time schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:00

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college coursework which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
• A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.

Responsibilities

• Training Participation: Attend agency training programs to build knowledge of social service methods and procedures
• Supportive Services: Provide basic case management assistance to children, youth, families, and individuals with special needs
• Guided Casework: Carry out assigned tasks under close supervision while gaining skills and confidence
• Documentation Review: Maintain records and review materials as directed by supervisors
• Professional Development: Engage in reading, meetings, and conferences to strengthen understanding of agency expectations
