Lincoln County Schools is seeking a County Car Driver (Non-CDL) in Lincolnton, North Carolina. This permanent, part-time, 10-month position offers up to 5 hours per day and may pair with another classified role for full-time employment.

Responsibilities include safely transporting students to and from school and performing other duties as assigned. Applicants must pass a drug test, background check, and TB test; a Class C license and a high school diploma or equivalent are required.

Reports To: Transportation Coordinator

Salary / FLSA / Non-Exempt: Grade 58 ($16.55 - $21.69 per hour)

The salary for this position is based upon the successful applicant’s years of service in the NC State Retirement System in the same or similar position. Experience outside of this system may not be recognized for pay purposes. For current Lincoln County School employees, this position will be paid according to the current Lincoln County Schools’ pay scale.

Qualifications/Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to pass a drug test, background check, and TB test before starting employment.
• Valid driver’s license - Class C required
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision once the job is learned
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to read, write and keep records
• Ability to perform simple calculations
• Must be able to perform very heavy work exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to lift objects
