Job summary

The University of Idaho Southern District is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Extension Educator to lead the Canyon County 4-H Youth Development program and contribute to multi-county initiatives.

The Educator will recruit and train volunteers, supervise a full-time coordinator, and partner with university faculty, community organizations, and agencies to deliver high-quality, research-based youth development programs.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Youth Development, Adult Learning, Agriculture and Extension Education, Social Work, Human Development, or a closely related field completed by hire date.
Experience providing organizational structure, guidance, and support for youth, families, and/or volunteers.
Experience adapting research-based information for oral and written presentations.
Experience developing and delivering educational programs for youth, volunteers, and/or community partners.
Experience using technology to market programs, deliver educational content, and communicate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead county 4-H programming and develop multi-county initiatives.
Recruit, train, and support volunteers and staff.
Develop and deliver high-quality educational opportunities for youth.
Collaborate with University of Idaho faculty, community organizations, governmental agencies, volunteers, and clientele to plan, implement, evaluate, and communicate program impacts.
Collaborate with district and statewide colleagues to strengthen educational initiatives and advance a coordinated, high-quality 4-H program across Idaho.
