Job summary

The University of Idaho in Idaho is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor-Extension Educator for Cassia County. This position allocates about 90% of effort to Extension programming, principally in horticulture and small acreages, with about 10% devoted to 4-H youth development.

The educator will collaborate with county commissioners and community partners to ensure programs meet local needs and align with Extension priorities and the annual plan of work, while also performing 5% applied

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Plant Sciences, Crop Sciences, Agronomy, Education, or closely related to the domain of the position
Experience providing organizational structure and support for a variety of individuals and groups
Experience in adapting research materials for oral and written presentations
Experience recruiting, teaching, organizing, and managing groups
Experience using technology for program delivery, reporting, and team-based communications

Responsibilities

Lead 90% of Extension programming, focusing on horticulture and small acreages and 10% on 4-H youth development
Account for 5% applied research and 5% university service and leadership responsibilities
Collaborate with county commissioners, partners, and community organizations to meet local needs
Ensure programs align with University of Idaho Extension priorities and annual plan of work
