Job summary

The University of Idaho is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor-Extension Educator for Cassia County. The role concentrates 90% on horticulture and small-acreage Extension programming and 10% on 4-H youth development, with an additional 5% for applied research and 5% for university service and leadership.

Collaborate with county partners to tailor programs to local needs and University priorities, while engaging diverse stakeholders in Extension education.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required at time of hire.
• Experience organizing groups and providing structural support.
• Ability to adapt research materials for oral and written presentations.
• Experience recruiting, teaching, organizing, and managing groups.
• Experience using technology for program delivery, reporting, and team communications.

Responsibilities

• Lead Extension programming with ~90% focus on horticulture and small acreage; ~10% on 4-H youth development.
• Collaborate with county commissioners, partners, and community organizations to align with Idaho Extension priorities.
• Contribute 5% applied research and 5% university service and leadership duties.
