Job summary

UNITED REFRIGERATION, INC. seeks a customer service-oriented associate to greet customers, answer calls, and provide knowledgeable assistance. You will process orders, assist with invoicing and returns, and help with stock loading/unloading while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

The role requires reliability, basic knowledge of HVACR, and willingness to participate in after-hours rotations; training on UNITED's product offerings and industry standards will be provided.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration.
• Learn and understand UNITED's product offering as well as rest of industry.
• Attend product seminars provided in-house and trade education groups (RSES, ACCA, ARW, etc.) and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and courteously by name (if known).
• Answer telephones promptly identifying yourself and the company.
• Provide professional and knowledgeable assistance to customers.
• Process customer orders accurately and timely; upsell where appropriate.
• Assist in invoicing, credits, returns, and basic procurement tasks.
• Load and unload company and customer vehicles using proper equipment.
• Break down and put away stock; maintain clean, organized area.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance; participate in after-hours rotation.

Overview

Provide customers with prompt, knowledgeable, and courteous service.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

• Greet customers promptly and courteously by name (if known)
• Answer telephones promptly and courteously identifying yourself and the company
• Provide professional and knowledgeable assistance to customers
• Provide accurate and timely execution of customer's orders, requests and other services
• Enhance customer orders by asking if other products are needed that were not specifically requested
• Use computer to do invoicing, credits, returns, reclaim, product procurement/replenishment, cash box reconciliation etc.
• Load and unload company, customer and outside carrier vehicles using proper equipment
• Break down and put away stock
• Regular and punctual attendance
• Participate in the After Hours Emergency Call rotation to assist customers when the branch is closed

Other Job Functions

• Follow-through/follow-up on promises and commitments made to customers
• Make deliveries as needed
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment inside and out; i.e., empty trash, sweep floors, clean bathroom(s), etc.
• Maintain current vendor catalogs, cross-references, price sheets, literature and specification data, and MSDS sheets
• Perform related jobs as required

Qualifications

Physical Demands

• Requires moving, lifting, and carrying up to 75 pounds
• Requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, stretching and ability to climb ladders
• Requires exposure to chemicals and solvents
• Requires manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination for data input

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to cross-reference and recommend substitute products
• Ability to get along with customers and other employees, follow directions and work under pressure

Equipment

• Must be able to operate computer and other office machines such as fax, calculator, photocopier and so on
• Fork lift

• Overtime required during off-season and mandatory during season and inventory
• Saturdays as required by location and season.
