Job summary

NAPA Auto Parts in Des Moines is seeking an Automotive Parts Specialist to help fleet customers source and identify the right parts. You will draw on your parts knowledge, answer questions, and deliver outstanding service in a fast-paced shop environment.

This role emphasizes customer focus, teamwork with other NAPA professionals, and a willingness to learn about automotive parts and related systems, with opportunities to grow within the company.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Willingness to learn all things auto parts; prior parts store or automotive industry experience preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License required; clean driving record recommended.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong listening and empathy for customers.
• Able to work in a shop environment, including airport-adjacent settings if present.

You’ll Need

• Valid Driver’s License
• Previous experience in a parts store or automotive industry or at least a willingness to learn all things auto parts
• High School Diploma or GED. Technical or Trade school courses or degree
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Great listening skills and empathy for customer
• Ability to work on or around an airport environment in a shop environment

And if you have this, even better (not a deal breaker if you don't):

• Background and/or passion for automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership
• Experience in airport ground support equipment
• Knowledge of cataloging, sourcing, AND/OR inventory management systems, a plus
• Entirely customer-centric (external/internal)
• ASE Certifications
