Job summary

Homewood & Meeks, a division of US LBM, is hiring for a Counter Sales Representative in a retail setting. You will assist customers and contractors with the sales process, take orders at the counter, and receive payments.

The role includes product knowledge, showroom upkeep, and occasional yard/warehouse support. The position pays $18.00 per hour and requires a High School Diploma or GED with 1–3 years of building material sales experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of building material knowledge and sales experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact positively with customers; answer questions regarding merchandise and services; process orders and handle payments.
• Assist showroom customers with product selection and record-keeping.
• Create invoices, work orders and sales tickets; manage data entry and refunds with approval.
• Maintain showroom appearance and stock levels; assist with yard and warehouse operations as needed.
• Operate cash register, handle various payment methods, and ensure accurate totals.
• Attend trainings and meetings to stay updated on product offerings and location-specific services.
