Job summary

All Surfaces in Davenport, IA is seeking a Counter Sales Specialist to assist customers in the showroom with purchasing, order pick-up and product knowledge in the flooring industry.

This role supports sales and customer care by processing orders and answering inquiries. Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:30pm, with a pay rate of $19-$21 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 0-1 year of customer service, sales, and/or showroom experience.
• Experience working with Point of Sales systems (POS).

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist walk-in customers and provide product information.
• Upsell and cross-sell products to maximize sales opportunities.

Position Overview

The Counter Sales Specialist will assist customers in the showroom with purchasing, order pick-up, and providing product knowledge within the flooring industry.

Branch: All Tile - CCS/Walcro in Davenport, IA

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm

Pay: $19-$21/hr depending on experience

Essential Functions

Customer Service

• Greet and assist walk-in customers.
• Provide product information, recommendations, and solutions based on customer needs.
• Direct customers to appropriate products and displays.
• Answer incoming phone calls and respond to customer emails regarding products, pricing, and order information.
• Resolve customer concerns and elevate issues when necessary.

Sales

• Upsell and cross-sell products to maximize sales opportunities.
• Support sales representatives, customer care, and other departments as needed.
• Process sales orders and quotes.
• Participate in vendor events and various product trainings/demos.
• Approve e-commerce orders and keep approvals within SLA metrics.

Order Hygiene

• Manage open orders in the portal.
• Follow up with customers regarding their orders and meet order hygiene standards and procedures.

Warehouse Operational Support

• Support with basic order fulfillment.
• Perform cycle counts and inventory audits as needed.
• Perform other warehouse tasks as needed.

Safety & Housekeeping

• Follow OSHA and company safety regulations.
• Use proper lifting techniques and material handling procedures.
• Maintain showroom displays, product samples, and merchandising standards.
• Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required.

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Degree.

Work Experience

• 0-1 year of customer service, sales, and/or showroom experience.
• Experience working with Point of Sales systems (POS).

Physical Demand and Work Environment

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills and reading comprehension skills.
• Ability to manage, reconcile and balance a cash drawer daily.
• Frequent bending, lifting, kneeling, and reaching.
• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance.
• Legally permitted to work in the United States.
