Job summary

OneSource Distributors, part of the Sonepar family, is seeking a dedicated store associate in Turlock, CA. The role includes greeting customers, handling sales transactions, merchandise presentation, and meeting customer needs on the floor.

In addition to customer service, you will assist with stock and warehouse tasks and support promotions. The position offers full-time hours, a first shift from 6:00am to 3:00pm, and a competitive compensation package with commission.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Teams and Outlook, is required.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers on the sales floor with a positive attitude and professional demeanor.
• Resolves customer issues and complaints promptly and diplomatically.
• Displays merchandise and suggests items meeting customer needs and promotes promotions.
• Provides quotes and estimates; processes sales tickets and handles payments.
• Requisitions merchandise and prepares items for delivery or will call.
• Supports warehouse duties including shipping and receiving as needed.

What you will do:

• Greets customers on the sales floor. Practices good interpersonal relations, using tact, courtesy, a positive attitude toward customers and co-workers, pleasant telephone etiquette, and a general attitude as a representative of goodwill on behalf of the company at work or during company travel.
• Handles difficulties with customers and coworkers with diplomacy andseeks assistance when needed.
• Resolves customer order problems and complaints promptly.
• Displays merchandise, suggests selections that meetcustomers' needs, and emphasizes selling points of an article such as quality and utility. Recommends additional products related to customer needs.
• Acquires, uses, and continuously develops personal technical knowledge of general and specialty merchandise items to assist customers and other company personnel.
• Determines make, type, and quality of merchandise desired by being familiar with products sold in the department by use, vendor, location in warehouse, catalog and catalog number, other reference materials, and special selling points.
• Describes or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
• Identifies and uses appropriate company and/or customer pricing systems.
• Provides oral and written quotations or estimates of prices, terms, and delivery for standard, complex, or non-standard merchandise.
• Prepares cash or charge sales tickets with required identification, necessary information for the customer, merchandise, price, and sales tax status for processing, shipment, and delivery of merchandise in a timely manner. Follows up with any specific record-keeping requirements.
• Receives payment or obtains credit authorization.
• Requisitions merchandise from stockroom and/or withdraws and assembles merchandise for immediate delivery, delayed customer pick-up, company truck delivery or shipment by common carrier. Loads customer materials for "will call" orders.
• Prepares correspondence and reports necessary for business transactions.
• Sell and promote the branch and companywide promotions and specials as directed.
• All warehouse duties as needed including shipping and receiving, as needed.

What you will bring:

• High school or equivalent diploma
• Clear and concise communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams and Outlook

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

• Occasional lifting and pulling objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Forklift certification, will train.

Location:

This role is based in Turlock, CA.

Work hours:

6:00am - 3:00pm

Salary Range:

• This is a non-exempt position and pays between $20.00 - $22.56 per hour. This salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, within California. In addition to the hourly salary, this role offers a competitive commission plan.
