Job summary

OneSource Distributors in California is seeking a friendly, customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team in Turlock. You will greet customers, answer questions, promote products, and help ensure a smooth checkout experience.

The role involves light warehouse duties, handling transactions, and supporting promotions. You must have a high school diploma, strong communication skills, and familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers on the sales floor with tact and courtesy and maintain a positive attitude.
• Resolve customer order problems promptly and diplomatically.
• Display merchandise and suggest products that meet customers' needs.
• Acquire product knowledge to assist customers and colleagues.
• Prepare and process sales tickets and handle pricing and tax status.
• Support warehouse tasks including shipping, receiving, and returns as needed.
• Promote branch and company promotions and specials.

What you will do:

• Greets customers on the sales floor. Practices good interpersonal relations, using tact, courtesy, a positive attitude toward customers and co-workers, pleasant telephone etiquette, and a general attitude as a representative of goodwill on behalf of the company at work or during company travel.
• Handles difficulties with customers and coworkers with diplomacy andseeks assistance when needed.
• Resolves customer order problems and complaints promptly.
• Displays merchandise, suggests selections that meetcustomers' needs, and emphasizes selling points of an article such as quality and utility. Recommends additional products related to customer needs.
• Acquires, uses, and continuously develops personal technical knowledge of general and specialty merchandise items to assist customers and other company personnel.
• Determines make, type, and quality of merchandise desired by being familiar with products sold in the department by use, vendor, location in warehouse, catalog and catalog number, other reference materials, and special selling points.
• Describes or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
• Identifies and uses appropriate company and/or customer pricing systems.
• Provides oral and written quotations or estimates of prices, terms, and delivery for standard, complex, or non-standard merchandise.
• Prepares cash or charge sales tickets with required identification, necessary information for the customer, merchandise, price, and sales tax status for processing, shipment, and delivery of merchandise in a timely manner. Follows up with any specific record-keeping requirements.
• Requisitions merchandise from stockroom and/or withdraws and assembles merchandise for immediate delivery, delayed customer pick-up, company truck delivery or shipment by common carrier. Loads customer materials for “will call” orders.
• Prepares correspondence and reports necessary for business transactions.
• Sell and promote the branch and companywide promotions and specials as directed.
• All warehouse duties as needed including shipping and receiving, as needed.

What you will bring:

• High school or equivalent diploma
• Clear and concise communication skills
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams and Outlook

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

• Occasional lifting and pulling objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Forklift certification, will train.

Location: This role is based in Turlock, CA.

Work hours: 6:00am – 3:00pm

Salary Range:

• This is a non-exempt position and pays between $20.00 - $22.56 per hour. This salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, within California. In addition to the hourly salary, this role offers a competitive commission plan.
