The Granite Group in Putnam, CT is seeking a friendly counter associate to deliver expeditious and courteous service while keeping the area clean and inviting. You will greet customers, help with requests, and maintain stocked shelves.

Responsibilities include entering counter sales tickets, handling phone inquiries, and selling merchandise with a professional sales presence. You may also serve as backup delivery driver and keep Supervisors informed of shortages.

Competenze

• GED or high school diploma required.
• 1–3 months related experience or training or equivalent
• Experience handling counter sales and/or customer service preferred.

• Greet customers and assist with requests promptly and courteously.
• Enter counter sales tickets into the computer with catalog numbers, quantities, and descriptions for pricing accuracy.
• Answer telephone inquiries promptly and redirect orders as needed.
• Sell merchandise and develop a sales-friendly demeanor with all customers.
• Function as backup delivery driver as needed; DOT medical card preferred.

Position Explanation:

Provide expeditious and courteous service while maintaining a clean area and a positive outlook. Wait on customers at the counter. Maintain stocked shelves. Keep supervisors advised of product shortages and problems.

• Greet customers and handle customer requests promptly and courteously.
• Enter counter sales tickets into the computer with the necessary catalog numbers, quantities and sufficient description for accurate pricing.
• Answer the telephone promptly and courteously and handle telephone inquiries and orders promptly and accurately.
• Sell merchandise, develop and present a sales personality with all customers.
• You will also function as a backup delivery driver. DOT Med card.

Required and Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of plumbing, heating and industrial supply products is a plus.

Education and Experience:
