Job summary

Parr Lumber Company in Hillsboro, Oregon, seeks a Counter Salesperson to greet customers, handle sales, and support inventory and merchandising at the retail location.

You will assist walk-in and phone customers, process orders, and maintain accurate records while delivering Legendary Service. The role requires strong English communication, basic computer skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to operate POS system, PC, smartphone, scanner and any other equipment necessary for the job.
• Must be able to type 30+ WPM.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Class C driver’s license preferred.
• OSHA forklift license preferred.
• Ability to speak, write, and read English.
• Knowledge of retail sales principles and building materials.
• Ability to ten-key by touch.
• Knowledge of dimension lumber and panel products.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers at the counter and on the phone with sales and service.
• Stock inventory and merchandise displays; keep store clean and organized.
• Load customer vehicles and prepare loads for delivery as needed.
• Process orders, quotes, and payments using POS and ERP systems.
• Communicate with customers and team members to ensure timely service.
• Follow safety policies and contribute to a positive work environment.
