Job summary

Graybar seeks an experienced Manager - Counter Sales to lead the counter sales function and meet branch sales and gross profit targets. You will supervise two or more full-time staff, drive merchandise sales, and ensure excellent customer service for will-call orders when needed.

You will forecast counter potential, set annual objectives, and train staff. Proficiency with computer systems, inventory control, and safety practices is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in warehouse, counter sales, or customer service
• 6+ years experience preferred
• High school or equivalent required; 4-year degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Sell merchandise to customers using product knowledge
• Service customer will calls when applicable
• Supervise two or more full-time employees
• Forecast counter potential and set annual sales and gross margin objectives
• Train counter sales staff and participate in quality improvement teams
• Maintain accurate pricing and protect company assets
• Operate warehouse equipment safely
• Maintain relationships with customers and suppliers
