Job summary

McGill Hose & Coupling is seeking a Counter Sales Representative to provide front-line customer service, identify parts and hoses, and prepare quotes and orders. You will also assemble hydraulic hoses, assist with stocking, and support a team-driven environment in our Mishawum area facility.

The role emphasizes problem solving, learning, and hands-on work. Training is provided; valid US work authorization is required and strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical skills; hose and fitting experience a plus.
• Strong computer skills; familiarity with basic software.
• Customer service oriented and a team player.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written English instructions.
• Able to pass pre-employment background check and/or drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones, identify parts and hoses, pull parts, and deal directly with customers.
• Greet all customers and answer phones in a polite and timely fashion.
• Resolve customer issues or concerns as necessary.
• Prepare quotes and enter customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Enter data and information timely and correctly.
• Monitor and close open sales orders and purchase orders along with other administrative needs.
• Handle cash and credit payments and returns per procedures.
• Able and willing to perform warehouse duties as assigned.
• Perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.
• Develop and maintain product knowledge through continuous training.
• Focus on positivity and teamwork.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
• Report workplace injuries and unsafe conditions promptly.
• Comply with OSHA and safety regulations.
• Participate in required safety training and onboarding.
• Assist customers with product selection and hose assemblies.
• Produce hydraulic and industrial hose assemblies per specifications.
• Assist with stocking and inventory maintenance.
• Work closely with branch team to ensure timely service.
• Be willing to get dirty and hands-on when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
