Job summary

Stuart Hose & Pipe in Fort Worth, a SunSource company, seeks an experienced Counter Sales Specialist to be the direct face of the branch, serving walk-in and call-in customers with product recommendations and order coordination.

You will identify hoses, fittings, and accessories, fabricate assemblies, and manage orders from start to finish, using ERP for quotes, stock checks, and on-time delivery in a fast-paced shop.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with hydraulic and industrial hose assembly, crimping, and fittings.
• Strong knowledge of thread types, hose construction, and pressure ratings.
• Ability to read calipers, thread pitch gauges, and tape measures.
• Proficient with counter tickets, quotes, and ERP/order entry.
• Physical ability to stand, lift up to 50 lbs, and work safely.

Stuart Hose & Pipe is looking for an experienced, hands-on Counter Sales Specialist to join our team. We don’t just take orders at the counter; we solve problems for contractors, fleet operators, manufacturing plants, and field technicians who need reliable solutions fast.

In this role, you will be the direct face of our branch, helping walk-in and call-in customers identify the right components, fabricating custom assemblies, and managing orders from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Service & Sales: Greet walk-in customers, take incoming orders, clarify application requirements, and recommend the correct hose, fittings, adapters, and accessories.
• Fabrication & Assembly: Build, crimp, cut, and test hydraulic and industrial hose assemblies to customer specifications and industry standards.
• Identification & Sourcing: Measure and identify thread types (NPT, JIC, ORFS, metric, BSPP, etc.), flange patterns, hose specs, and pressure ratings on sample parts brought in by customers.
• Order Management & ERP: Enter counter tickets, quotes, and transfers accurately using our ERP system; check stock availability and manage lead times.
• Warehouse & Inventory Support: Assist with restocking counter bins, cycle counts, receiving inbound transfers, and maintaining a clean, safe assembly and showroom area.

Required Qualifications

• Direct Experience: Proven hands-on experience in hydraulic and industrial hose assembly, crimping, and fitting identification.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of thread types, hose construction, pressure ratings, and fluid conveyance applications.
• Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to read calipers, thread pitch gauges, tape measures, and crimp spec charts accurately.
• Computer Skills: Comfortable learning and navigating point-of-sale / ERP software for order entry, inventory lookups, and quoting.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand on your feet throughout the day, lift up to 50 lbs, and work with shop fabrication machinery safely.
• Work Ethic: Strong communication skills, dependable attendance, and a problem-solving mindset under fast-paced counter conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in fluid power distribution, industrial supply, or heavy equipment parts counters.
• Bilingual (English / Spanish) is a plus.
